Jamie Taylor | Head Chef
Jamie has been with us for 2 years, first as sous chef and now as head chef. When the vacancy for head chef opened up Jamie displayed such flair for flavour and style, combined with a tireless work ethic, we had no choice but to offer him the head chef position. Jamie has the near perfect combination of talents, a deep scientific understanding from his Msc in Biomedical Science, an artist’s flair from his background playing in several notable rock bands and, quite literally, military discipline from his upbringing in a navy family.
Jake Ball | Sous Chef
Every kitchen needs a Jake. He is obsessed with detail and with being ready, you’ve never seen anyone prepare for service like Jake. Everything is immaculate, everyday. Jake is the mechanic who keeps the kitchen machine running. Joining us with a background in big kitchens such a Ston Easton park Jake likes discipline and things done right. Jake also sports an uncanny instinct for flavour combinations; when all the other chefs are scratching their heads wondering how it will work he brings together the most unlikely of flavours into something quite remarkable.
Alfie Lewis | Sous Chef
Alfie is the ambitious heart of the kitchen, he wants to be the best so badly you can feel it emanating from every move he makes. Working around some of Bath and Bristol’s best kitchens, such as the Allium under the tutelage of Chris Staines and the Porter under Rob Clayton and completing a stage at Casa Mia, Alfred Lewis is a name you want to remember, one day you’ll see it in lights.
Jerome came to us as a Trainee Commis Chef and has worked his way up to become a full CDP. He is the philosophic heart of the kitchen, somehow combining a passion for esoteric and obtuse critical theory with a talent for cooking and a fearsome work ethic borne of growing up on a farm.
Emily is our rising star. Growing up in her family’s restaurant she has catering in her blood and it shows. She has a degree in Graphic Design and this shows in her cooking and her plating. She learns so fast even Jamie is worried for his job.
Imogen is the newest member of our team, joining us virtually straight from university where she studied English Literature. She has been a vegan for … years and....
